Sunday School at First Assembly of God:

Tim & Cathy Hodges

Sunday School Superintendent Tim Hodges and his wife Cathy invite you and your family to join us each Sunday morning. Our Sunday School is a vital ministry by dedicated Christian educators whose mission is to teach others how to live the LIFE! This mission has four key points:

  • Learning together:  Through Spirit-led teaching, our staff strives to teach believers how to live a Christian life that is pleasing to Jesus Christ and will lead families to heaven.  Click here for more information.
  • Include all who come:  Following Jesus' example, our Sunday School ministers to who come seeking Christ. With classes from nursery to Seniors, First Assembly has a place for you to belong! Click here for more information.
  • Find others who need to know:  Sunday School is a place to learn about living a Christian life, but it is also a place to train Christians to find others who need the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through various outreach programs to young and old alike and discipleship training, believers are urged to examine their life circle and invite others who need Jesus! Click here for more information.
  • Emerge for Ministry:  The saving grace of Jesus is too precious to keep to ourselves! Sunday School also focuses on training believers to seek God's will for their area of ministry. Whether it is teaching a class, being an usher, greeter, cooking with the Women's Ministry, working with one of our outreach ministries or inviting others to Sunday School, everyone has a place and a ministry in the Kingdom of God. Click here for more information.

Why are you waiting? Come join us this Sunday morning!  Friendly faces will greet you and direct you to the class that seems to be a great starting place for you. Don't stop there--sample several classes over a few weeks until you find the place for you and your family!  We would LOVE to introduce you to living the LIFE for Jesus Christ!

Sunday School Ministries:

Early Stir began as a Sunday School ministry with one goal: get students to Sunday School on time by providing them with food and fellowship to start their Sunday School Experience.

The plan is simple. Sponsors arrive between 8:00-8:15am on Sunday mornings to see up coffee, soft drinks and refreshments for students. Power Point presentations and music create an atmosphere of fellowship until 8:45am when door prizes are awarded. At 8:50, students leave to go to class while the sponsors are left to clean up.

What are the benefits? For the price of a donut and a cup of coffee or soft drink, our children have fellowship AND get to their Sunday School class ready to Learn to Live the LIFE at 9:00am. By default, perhaps their parents arrive on time (or even early) as well.

If you are a middle school, junior high, high school or college student, come join us for refreshments at 8:30am. If you are an adult who wishes to help minister to our youth, contact Leanna Garrett for sponsor information.

 LIFE Verses

In order to maximize our power to overcome sin and live a victorious Christian life, the Sunday School Department has designed a program for families to work together to memorize God's word. Our LIFE verses are designed for families to focus together on ONE verse per week to memorize. Also, each month's plan has a POWER VERSE to emphasize the focus of the month.

Just as the Bible tells us in Psalms 119:11, "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.", we want to emphasize as a church family the importance of hiding God's word in our hearts. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our families and in the Kingdom of God.
